Michelle Fields, MA, LPC
Clinical Director
Michelle Fields has a Master of Arts degree in Contemplative Psychotherapy from Naropa University in Boulder. She joined La Luna Center’s team as an intern and has been with us since. Michelle is experienced in working with disordered eating and body image issues in both group and individual therapy.  Michelle has background in mindfulness practices, meditation and yoga. Her approach to therapy is integrative and draws from contemplative, psychodynamic, and humanistic psychologies. Michelle’s clients appreciate her compassionate, grounded and open presence.
Rachel Ness, MA, LPC
Primary Therapist
Rachel Zigman has a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Somatic Counseling (Body Psychotherapy) from Naropa University and is a licensed professional counselor (LPC). Rachel has worked with a variety of populations, including survivors of domestic violence, incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals, and university faculty and staff. She is passionate about helping clients connect with their genuine selves. She has led therapeutic and support groups for several years and enjoys merging psychoeducational topics with creative and expressive modalities. Rachel's style is grounded in Body Psychotherapy and is augmented by her warmth, openness, and playfulnes
Rebecca Alexander, MSW
Primary Therapist
Rebecca has her Master's of Social Work degree with a concentration in mental health and trauma from the University of Denver. She has 10 years of experience working with individuals suffering with eating disorders at all levels of care (from hospitalization to outpatient) and in both group, individual, and neurotherapeutic settings, and has worked with legislation to advocate for appropriate eating disorder care. Rebecca works collaboratively with clients with an empathetic and playful stance that strives to understand the client's experiences from a social justice and trauma-informed lens. She uses Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Rebecca considers it an honor to journey with clients through their vulnerable and courageous work towards recovery and finding their authentic self.

Maria holds a Master's degree in Social Work with a concentration in Organizational Leadership and Policy Practice (OLPP). She brings her experience in policy and organization to sessions, empowering her clients to make changes within themselves. She has experience working with eating disorders, mood disorders, addiction, trauma, and much more. She has experience leading somatic and experiential groups in treatment settings. Maria takes a client-centered approach and uses a mix of Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and (sometimes) humor. Maria is grateful to work with her clients, helping them discover their authentic selves.

Elise Southworth, MS, RDN

Elise completed her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She continued her education at Ohio State University, where she completed a dual Master of Science program alongside her dietetic internship. Elise is highly passionate about supporting others in their relationships with food and their bodies. Elise's philosophy on nutrition emphasizes the importance of adequate, well-rounded nutrition, but also the idea that food is more than just fuel—it plays a role in memories, enjoyment, and connection. Clients appreciate Elise's empathy and collaboration.

Lauren Ortiz, MSW

Lauren holds a Master’s degree in Social Work with a concentration in mental health and trauma from the University of Denver. Lauren has worked primarily with adults in higher levels of care, treating eating disorders alongside co-occurring conditions, with an emphasis on trauma recovery. Lauren takes an eclectic, trauma-informed approach to therapy, drawing from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She practices from a HAES®-aligned, weight-neutral lens and tailors her work to each client’s individual needs and lived experiences. Lauren is especially interested in addressing the impact of trauma, weight stigma, and the mind-body connection through mindfulness-based practices. Lauren believes that healing is possible when clients are met with compassion, curiosity, and the space to reconnect with their authentic selves. She is committed to creating a supportive environment where clients can explore their inner worlds, build resilience, and move toward lasting recovery. Outside of her clinical work, Lauren enjoys cooking, being outdoors, crocheting, and spending time with her dog and family.
