Psychiatrist Job Description
Our Psychiatrist provides: initial and ongoing evaluation and treatment of La Luna Center’s clients with medications in addition to other forms of therapeutic interventions, provide psychiatric services including administering and supervising evidence-based treatment with an emphasis on medication evaluation and management, identification of potential physical problems impacting the mental and physical health of clients, ordering and monitoring appropriate laboratory tests, consultation and collaboration with mulit-disciplinary treatment team and outside primary care providers.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Collaborates with a multi-disciplinary treatment teams to coordinate client care
Provides psychiatric diagnostic and medication evaluations for La Luna Center’s clients in the PHP treatment program
Collaborates with clinical staff on treatment planning of individual clients
Participates in internal consultation with other professionals in the organization as well as with outside agencies Liaisons with client Primary Care Physician (PCP) and facilitates medical care, and when appropriate, transfer of care to the PCP
Regularly participates in daily team meetings (30 Minutes/day)
Documents provision of services, assessments, evaluations and treatment goals and plan consistent with clinical and administrative policies and procedures
Orders and monitors appropriate laboratory tests at clinically indicated frequency Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements Qualifications
Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Colorado.
DEA Certification required
M.D. or D.O. degree (or international equivalent)
Board Certified or Board Eligible
Education and Experience
Must be knowledgeable and current with regard to psychopharmacology, medical/psychiatric interface, recovery practices, and evidence-based neuropsychiatric diagnosis and treatment
Prior experience working with adults in an outpatient/inpatient setting preferred
Understanding of principles of managed health care preferred, but not required
Computer skills including use of electronic health record and MS Office and Google G-Suite products preferred and/or the ability to learn new tools as needed
Experience in treating eating disorders preferred
Knowledge in evidence-based therapy approaches
Estimate start date is the week of 9/9/2019

Our Office Manager provides administrative support to a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, therapists, and dietitians. Our office manager is also responsible for interacting with our customer/clients, supporting our busy staff and managing multiple aspects of the center.
